Ronald William Howard, born March 1, 1954, was born in Duncan (Oklahoma). He is the son of Jean Speegle Howard, an actress, and Rance Howard, a writer, director, and actor. The family moved from Burbank to Hollywood, California, in 1958. They lived there for three years. He graduated from John Burroughs and went on to the School of Cinematic Arts of the University of Southern California. He never graduated from college.
